Where do we draw a line between utopia and dystopia? Modern world is filled with advertisement to the point that we don’t notice it anymore. Yet, the ideas that are conveyed through the overlooking billboards linger on the busy streets. Are we given freedom of choice or is it an illusion? This short film is a hyper vision of the world of today, where consumerism is embedded into our subconsciousness.

Ignorance is bliss.
Pleasures of consumerism are sustained by abuse of planet Earth and of people who are unable to indulge in those pleasures. World of advertisement works hard to conceal the reality, splitting societies into groups of people who’s lives are ignored, and those who wear the rose-colored glasses.

Through the memories of a person, the viewer is presented with the search for truth. Hidden within the dream-like visions and city streets, are the true moments. What would you choose, sweet illusions or simple facts?
2016
To express the feeling of weight that I felt on my shoulders as somebody that contributes to the ongoing extinction of animals, I decided to make a movie that would embody this crisis that our neighbors on this Earth experience today. I made a choice of using a PixelVision Camera to shoot this film. Humanity does not seem to care much about animals until they are nearly extinct. The PXL-2000 is a discontinued camcorder toy that was made in 1987 by Fisher-Price. Due to the fast pace of technological advance and price tag that was inappropriate for a children’s toy (nearly $400 in equivalent), only 400 000 units were produced, making the camera a nearly extinct one today. The film starts with a Big Bang visualizations, accompanied by hip hop music, marking it as a child of a trend. Further into the film, we see a humanoid entity appear out of the white noise. It dances until the Eye switches its attention, because it is a nature of a trend to go out of fashion. As the music changes, the humanoid now is crawling on the ground, tracing back its movements to where it started. Eventually, the figure decides to dance again, however, that does not bring the glory of the past into the current.
